Lexington Medical Center’s Nurse Practitioner Fellowship is a structured, one-year program, starting each year in August, specifically designed to augment new nurse practitioners with the depth, breadth, volume, and intensity of clinical training necessary for the clinical complexity of primary care.
The Nurse Practitioner Fellow functions in a learning role receiving advanced training through practical hands-on and didactic educational experiences designed to increase confidence and clinical skills.
The foundation of the fellowship consists of two primary rotations, each lasting six months, within a Lexington Medical Center Physician Network Family Medicine or Internal Medicine practice. During these rotations, the Fellow will serve as a primary care provider. In addition, fellows will also have the opportunity to rotate through various Lexington Medical Center specialty practices.
